The new Marex update

7th March 2022

There is a lot that is new at Marex ... here's an overview on the last few months.

Back in October we posted an article called "the new Marex".

We want to keep you up to date with progress. So here is what has happened in the last four to five months.

Energy efficiency is a hot topic in the industry just now. With energy efficiency being a huge industry we published four articles with a different focus in each.

From dynamic positioning (DP) operations to identifying opportunities for improvement, we wanted to take a well-rounded look at the subject.

The articles on LinkedIn include; energy efficiency management systems, energy efficiency opportunities for improvement, energy efficiency management support and energy efficiency in dynamic positioning (DP) operations.

We also shone a light on Marex’s expertise in assessing human reliability.

To do this we published details of a project that we worked on with Well-Safe Solutions. Marex carried out a human reliability assessment which forms part of the safety critical task analysis (SCTA).

The SCTA process helps organisations that operate in major accident-hazard industries to systematically analyse the role that human factors play in their operations. The human reliability assessment identifies potential failure scenarios, it enhances operational performance, increases operational safety and identifies operational improvement initiatives, giving the client assurance of compliance.

And we were delighted to be able to announce Ray Riddoch’s appointment to our board. His industry experience and vision will help us build on our existing expertise and reputation as we continue to support our clients developing new opportunities in the energy and marine sectors. Ray Riddoch was made an OBE, for services to the oil and gas industry in 2018

Growth and transition has been a focus for us here at Marex over the last 18 months. Our managing irector Wayne Henderson shared our vision for growth, diversification and the importance of energy transition with Energy Voice in January. Energy Voice is a global, digital and print news platform for the oil, gas and the renewables sector.

A lot of our expertise and knowledge within oil and gas can be transferred to the renewable energy sector, having shown this to our existing customers who are also transitioning to the renewables sector.

In fact, the emerging importance of this sector was behind the location of our new office we have recently opened in East Anglia.

Supporting our significant steps we are making in our diversification into green energy, our new office in Lowestoft reflects our increasing presence in the region. Closer to home, significant growth within the business means we have relocated our Granite City headquarters to Neo House.

We chose a first class facility to support our team with the best possible work-life balance. We can now offer them flexible and efficient home or hybrid working.

There are a lot of new and exciting changes in the Marex world.

One thing that hasn’t changed is our commitment to helping our clients rethink, refocus and strengthen their approach to enterprise risk management. It's how you make sure your business is safe and successful in an uncertain world.

But we're not finished yet…

A couple of things to look out for over the next coming months are; an introduction to the people who make up our team, our new look and our new website.

To keep up to date with all of our news and changes coming up, make sure to follow us on all our social channels.
