| District Offshore seem to have
been about for a long time and records show that in the mid 1980s they
owned two platform ships, the Skandi Fjord and the Skandi Hav. Their
expansion seems to have been accelerated by the arrival of the MT6000 as
a ship type, and the consequent favour they have found with Shell Expro.
DOF have set up a joint venture with
Taubatkompaniet using tow of the latter company's very large anchor handlers.
They also have a joint venture with Solstad which operates ships in Brazil

They have also set up a joint venture with
Solstad and Nortrans in Singapore to exploit Asian markets this
company is known as Nor Offshore Pte and during February 2005 it was
reported that they were to bareboat two 5500 bhp anchor-handlers being built
by Jaya Holdings of Singapore.. |
